Self-Pay Practice

Fees & Payment

Chris Kos, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

I believe you should know what your care costs before you begin. Inner Peace Psychiatry is a self-pay practice, and I do not currently bill insurance directly. This allows me to offer unhurried appointments and treatment plans designed around your goals rather than insurance requirements.

All care is provided by secure video telehealth for adults in Washington and Oregon. You must be physically located in one of these states at the time of each appointment.

Good to Know

Payment

Payment is due at the time of each visit. I accept credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards. A card is kept securely on file for your convenience.

Cancellations

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged the full visit fee. If you are not in Washington or Oregon at the time of your appointment, it will need to be rescheduled, and the late-cancellation policy may apply.

Telehealth Appointments

To join, you'll need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera and a reliable internet connection. Please choose a private, quiet space for your visit.

Using Your Insurance

Although I don't bill insurance, many patients with PPO plans can be partly reimbursed for out-of-network care. I'm happy to provide a superbill, an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance company. Call your insurer beforehand to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits. Reimbursement depends on your plan and is not guaranteed.

Medicare: I am unable to see patients with Medicare at this time.

Medicaid: I am unable to see patients enrolled in the Oregon Health Plan or Washington Apple Health at this time.

Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Under federal law, if you don't have insurance or aren't using insurance, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" of the expected cost of your care. You can ask for one when you schedule, or at any time before your appointment. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your estimate, you may be able to dispute it. Please keep a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. For more information, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
